Here is a quick guide to the recruitment process:

  • Apply by filling in the form and sending in your CV, personal letter and assignment portfolio.
  • You’ll be contacted by Hyper Island to have your recruitment seat confirmed, if you get accepted. You can’t get accepted to the program before you’ve passed the Recruitment Day.
  • 2 weeks after your Recruitment Day you’ll be contacted with a letter of assessment. If you get accepted you need to confirm your seat within 1 week.
  • When you’ve confirmed your seat, you will receive a Hyper Island letter of agreement. You need to sign this contract within 30 days.

RECRUITMENT DAY

  • A Recruitment Day takes around 8 – 10 hours and consists of:
  • A personal interview.
  • Informal meetings with Hyper Island students and staff.
  • An individual creative task.
  • A team assignment.

ADMISSION QUALIFICATIONS

INTERACTIVE ART DIRECTOR PROGRAM
The Interactive Art Director program requires a minimum two years of industry experience or two years of previous fulltime studies within the design/interactive area.

Basic qualifications for University studies. The course is in English and therefore requires skills in English. Besides the portfolio we also assess the following:
Relevant pre-studies. Studies that are relevant to the content of the Interactive Art Director program – e.g. interface design, branding, visual communication, graphic design and interactivity.
Relevant working experience – experience within the digital media industry e.g. design and programming.

MOTION GRAPHICS PROGRAM
The Motion Graphics Designer program requires a minimum two years of industry experience or two years of previous fulltime studies within the design/interactive area. You will need to submit copies of attested documents in English or Swedish verifying this.

Basic qualifications for University studies. The course is in English and therefore requires skills in English. Besides the portfolio we also assess the following:
Relevant pre-studies. Studies that are relevant to the content of the Motion Graphics Program – e.g. interface design, animation, visual communication, graphic design and interactivity.
Relevant working experience – experience within the digital media industry e.g. design and programming.

DIGITAL MEDIA PROGRAM
Basic qualifications for University studies (exceptions can be made related to proven skills and motivation). Skills in English are necessary to be able to follow lectures in English and to obtain information from literature.

Relevant pre-studies. Studies that are relevant to the content of the Digital Media program – e.g. media, communication studies, leadership, computer science or business. Relevant working experience – experience within the digital media industry e.g. project management, leadership, programming or design.

NB: Pre-studies are not required for the Digital Media Program.
